BC0( 19 PAGE <br />• MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />APRIL 7, 2003 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 9:00 o'clock a.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee <br />County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. <br />Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lemmond, <br />Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and Amy L. Stevens. <br />Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. <br />Commissioner Amy Stevens delivered the invocation and led the pledge of <br />J allegiance. <br />The board considered additional agenda items. The following items were added <br />to the agenda: <br />• Commissioner Paschal asked that the board discuss the old DMV <br />building on Old Carbonton Road <br />• Commissioner Matthews asked that the board approve an <br />application for a Quiz Bowl Grant for Lee County High School <br />• Commissioner Matthews asked that the board discuss a recent <br />article in The Sanford Herald concerning Fire Marshal services in <br />Lee County <br />• Commissioner Reives asked that the board discuss sending a letter <br />to the Board of Education concerning renovations to Lee Senior <br />High School <br />• Commissioner Reives asked that the board discuss the DARE <br />Program administered by the Sheriff's Office <br />• County Manager William Cowan asked that the board discuss <br />needed repairs for San Lee Dam <br />• County Manager William Cowan asked that the board consider <br />hiring a Physician Extender position at the Health Department for <br />the Primary Care Clinic <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the agenda as amended.
