W, li „o., 9 P 4 C E MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA MARCH 17, 2003 ****8:*#~:#~:#~~~:;tW*~k-k~::k**#*##*%k~:*A:*~~k**%k*~::k#~k~X=sk%k*%K#~k ~k:k rk ek ~l:&%k***#**#**#~: A=#~k The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 3:00 o'clock p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina on said date. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lemmond, Bertha L. Matthews, Robert T. Reives, and Amy L. Stevens. Commissioner Nathan E. Paschal was absent due to sickness. V Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle delivered the invocation. Chairman Hincks led the pledge of allegiance. The board considered additional agenda items. The following items were asked to be added to the agenda: • Commissioner Reives asked that the recent resolution opposing the placement of a 4-way stop sign at Courtland Drive and Harkey Road be forwarded to Representative John Sauls, and Senator Harris Blake, and G. R. Kindley with the Department of Transportation • Commissioner Matthews asked that the board discuss the construction of a parking lot for courthouse patrons at the corner of COurtland Drive and Elm Streets • Commissioner Matthews also asked that the board consider a policy change for Social Service concerning vacancies if they are filled from in-house • County Manager William Cowan told the board that the department presentation scheduled by Soil & Water Director Darryl Harrington had been rescheduled for the next meeting on April 7`f, • Commissioner Stevens asked that the matter pertaining to the Agreement with the N.C. Administrative Office of the Courts for warrant acquisition be pulled from the consent agenda for further discussion
