bn'% 9 <br />'r~CE <br />I <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chainnan ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Flincks asked that a thank-you letter from the Board of Commissioners <br />be drafted to First Calvary Baptist Church and Dave and Carol Schneider for their recent <br />contributions to Youth Services. <br />Representative John Sauls and Senator Harris Blake appeared before the board <br />and expressed their support and interest concerning Lee County in the up-coming <br />legislative year. <br />Tax Administrator Roger Kelley outlined for the board a schedule for completion <br />of the octennial revaluation. No action was taken on the matter. <br />The board considered an appointment to the Board of Equalization and Review. <br />Commissioner Adams moved to appoint Roy Utley as the second alternate to the Board <br />of Equalization and Review. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board considered a resolution to establish the Board of Equalization and <br />Review for 2003. Commissioner Adams moved to approve the resolution, a copy of <br />which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Flincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board considered a request from the Register of Deeds Office for additional <br />funds for a part-time employee. Register of Deeds Nellie Thomas told the board that she <br />needed an additional 58,000 in her budget for the remainder of FY 2002-2003 to cover <br />expenses for a part-time employee. Discussion also took place concerning c-mail <br />capability for the Register of Deeds Office. After sonic discussion, Commissioner <br />Paschal moved to increase the Register of Deeds budget by 58,000 to assist with the <br />salary of a part-time employee and authorize that e-mail services be implemented in this <br />office as soon as possible. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Flincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />
