0 0 <br />-19 F!,UF. 1JJ <br />Lo%X L <br />Board of Education voted at their January 4, 2003, meeting to instruct the Superintendent <br />to ask the Board of Commissioners to acquire the options on the Godfrey/McKinney <br />properties. After some discussion, Commissioner Stevens moved to proceed with <br />acquiring the Godfi-ey and McKinney properties on Tramway Road. The motion also <br />requested that the Board of Education present a ten-year facility plan to the Board of <br />Commissioners by March 31, 2003, as a condition of this approval. Upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, I-lincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board considered a 6udgct Procedure Calendar for FY 2003-2004. County <br />Manager William Cowan told the board this was a rough guideline and could be amended <br />at any time. After some discussion, Commissioner Reives moved to approve the Budget <br />Procedure Calendar for FY 2003-2004 as presented. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board considered a 1% hellos (catch-up pay) for permanent temporary <br />employees. Commissioner Paschal moved that all permanent temporary employees <br />receive the 1% bonus that all other permanent employees received in December 2002. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Adams discussed kvith the board the lack of "turn-around" areas on <br />US #1 North between 15-501 and the Deep River Bridge. He told the board that he had <br />received numerous complaints from emergency personnel concerning this matter. After <br />some discussion, Commissioner Adams moved that a letter be forwarded to the <br />appropriate authority asking if "turn-around" areas can be installed.
