Mr. Hanes told the board that this grant was available to Lee County for such <br />things as training and travel to conferences. After some discussion, Commissioner <br />Adams moved to approve the acceptance of a 53,000 bio-terrorism grant. Upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, iMatthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Hanes discussed with the board a promotion concerning Charles Hackney to <br />the Animal Control Supervisor position. After some discussion, Commissioner Reives <br />moved to approve the promotion of Charles Hackney to Animal Control Supervisor at <br />Grade 65 Step 5. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Hanes also asked that the board allow him to hire an Animal Control Officer <br />to replace the position vacated by Charles Hackney. Commissioner Stevens moved that <br />the vacant Animal Control Officer position be filled. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board considered matters pertaining to the Planning Board. Planner Althea <br />Thompson told the board that the Planning Board recommended approval of the <br />Preliminary Plat for Cottage Village if located at Carolina Trace. Commissioner Reives <br />moved to approve the recommendation of the Planning Board.
