BGO~ 19 PAGE 142.1 <br />MINUTES FROM THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STA'L'E OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />JANUARY 6, 2003 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of <br />North Carolina, convened at 9:00 o'clock a.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 1-lillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present <br />J were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lemmond, Bertha L. Matthews, <br />Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and Amy L. Stevens. <br />Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. <br />Rev. Frank Lloyd delivered the invocation. <br />Commissioner Ed Paschal led the pledge of allegiance. <br />'File board considered additional agenda items. Commissioner Lemmond asked that <br />the board discuss a resolution concerning 4-wheel all terrain vehicles (ATV's.) <br />Commissioner Reives asked that the board discuss a problem concerning roaming animals <br />on Nicholson Road. Commissioner Adams moved that the item under New Business <br />concerning the purchase of two 44 Ford Explores for the Sheriff's Office be moved to the <br />Consent Agenda. Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve the agenda as printed with <br />the above changes. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted of <br />the following items: <br />• Minutes from the December 16, 2002 regular meeting <br />• Transfer of various equipment from the Criminal Justice Partnership <br />Program to Harnett County <br />• Amended bond for Sheriffs Department <br />• Recommendation from the Planning Board for a petition by Laverne <br />Thorton <br />
