He stated that the proposed budget was presented to the Board of <br />Commissioners on May 22, 2017. The total recommended budget is $71,072,740.00. Since the <br />May 22nd meeting a copy of the budget was placed online, at the Library, and at the Clerk's office. <br />Chair Dalrymple opened the public hearing that had been advertised for this date and time. <br />The following people spoke in favor of the proposed budget: <br />- Dr. Andy Bryant, Superintendent, Lee County Schools <br />- Joy Thrash, CEO, Sanford Area Growth Alliance <br />- Sherry Overton Shudra, Executive Director, Haven of Lee County <br />No one present spoke in opposition to the recommended budget. <br />Chair Dalrymple closed the public hearing. <br />Public Hearing for FY 2017-18 Fire District Budget <br />County Manager John Crumpton introduced the public hearing for the proposed fire district <br />budgets for fiscal year 2017-2018.
