The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted 4-0. <br />Commissioner Oldham moved to approve the Consent Agenda, which consisted of <br />the following items: <br />■ Minutes from the May 1, 2017 Regular Meeting <br />■ Minutes from the April 10, 2017 Joint Interlocal Meeting <br />■ Tax Release and Refund Report for April 2017 <br />Upon vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Dodson, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, Sharpe <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Dodson, Knecht, Sloan <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted 4-0. <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Pursuant to General Statute § 152A-52.1, Chair Dalrymple opened the floor for <br />Public Comments. No one signed up to speak during the Public Comments section of <br />the meeting. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Commissioner Knecht arrived at 6:05 P.M. <br />A. Sanford Area Growth Alliance Monthly Update for May 2017 <br />Sanford Area Growth Alliance CEO Joy Thrash presented an update on economic <br />development, Chamber of Commerce, and visitor services activity. No action was taken. <br />Commissioner Dodson arrived at 6:10 P.M. <br />B. 2019 Reappraisal Timeline Presentation <br />Real Property Appraiser, Michael Brown provided a presentation outlining the <br />timeline for the 2019 real property reappraisal. No action was taken. <br />C. Update on Advertised Surplus Properties in the Carolina Trace Subdivision <br />County Attorney Whitney Parrish provided an update on two properties that were <br />advertised seeking offers to purchase in the Carolina Trace subdivision. She stated that <br />Lee County currently owns seven properties in Carolina Trace as a result of foreclosures. <br />The Board of Commissioners had previously deemed the properties as surplus and <br />directed staff to offer the properties for sale through the sealed bid process. As such, two <br />properties were advertised, 1413 Texas Square and 2055 Long Point Trail seeking offers <br />to purchase the properties by allowing citizens to submit an offer through the sealed bid <br />process. The advertisement ran in The Sanford Herald on April 5, 2017 and under NCGS <br />160A-268, the bids have to remain open for thirty days thus the advertisements indicated <br />Page 214 <br />
