`F r nox i7 PAGF 493 105 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS IN THEIR CAPACITY AS THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE LEE COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT NO. I OCTOBER 19, 1998 A meeting of the governing body of the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. 1 was held in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillerest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, immediately following the regular meeting of the Lee County Board of Commissioners held on said date. Commissioners present were Jimmie M. Cox, T. Ervin Mansfield, Bertha L. Matthews, J. Douglas Moretz, Nathan E. Paschal and Robert T. Reives. Chairperson Matthews presided and Gaynell M. Lee, Clerk to the Board of Commissioners, acted as Secretary of the meeting. Commissioner Garner moved to approve the consent agenda as printed, which consisted of the following item: • Minutes of the October 5, 1998 meeting Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives Nay: None The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle discussed with the Board two Deeds of Release for land in the Jonesboro Township. He told the Board that in 1983 Eugene and Linda McNeill and Ralph Payne, Truby Payne, Christin Ammons, Sarah Dahl and Brenda Campbell conveyed to Lee County an easement to construct, maintain and operate an underground pipeline for the purpose of transmitting water across a 5.99 acre tract of land in the Jonesboro Township. In June, 1997, the Board transferred the water system, with the exception of the portion that serves Golden Poultry and the Cumnock Water district to the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. 1. The line in the Jonesboro Township is no longer used and is not necessary for the operation of the water system. The parties in question have requested the easement be returned to them.
