MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />IN ITS CAPACITY AS THE GOVERNING BODY <br />OF <br />LEE COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT NO. 1 <br />MONDAY, JUNE 16, 1997 <br />A meeting of the governing body of the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. <br />1 was held in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, immediately following the regular meeting of the Lee <br />County Board of Commissioners held on said date. Commissioners present were Jimmie <br />M. Cox; F. Hubert Garner; T. Ervin Mansfield; Bertha L. Matthews; J. Douglas Moretz, <br />Nathan E. Paschal and Robert T. Reives. <br />Chairman Garner presided and Gaynell M. Beal, Clerk to the Board of <br />Commissioners, acted as Secretary of the meeting. <br />Commissioner Moretz moved to approve the consent agenda as printed, which <br />consisted of the following items: <br />• Minutes of the June 2, 1997 meeting <br />• FY 1997-98 Budget Ordinance (copy attached) <br />• Resolution accepting transfer of water system assets and <br />assuming liabilities (copy attached) <br />Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Public Works Director Kenny Cole and Architect Fred Hobbs discussed with the <br />Board recent bids obtained for Phase I of the Lee County Water Project. They asked that <br />a work session be scheduled prior to July 21, 1997 to go over the water project bids. No <br />date was set for a work session and no action was taken on the matter. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, Commissioner Cox <br />moved to adjourn the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. 1 meeting. <br />Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />
