0 111 BOOK 16 p 715 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS IN ITS CAPACITY AS THE GOVERNING BODY OF LEE COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT NO. 1 MONDAY, DECEMBER 2, 1996 A meeting of the governing body of the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. I was hold in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest J Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, immediately following the regular meeting of the Lee County Board of Commissioners held on said date. Commissioners present were Jimmie M. Cox; F. Hubert Garner, Ervin Mansfield, Bertha L. Matthews; J. Douglas Moretz, Nathan E. Paschal and Robert T. Reives. Chairman Garner presided and Gaynell M. Beal, Clerk to the Board of Commissioners, acted as Secretary of the meeting. The Board considered the draft of the minutes of the Novemberl8, 1996, Lee County Water and Sewer District No. 1 meeting. Commissioner Moretz moved to approve the minutes as the official record of said meeting. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered extending the deadline for water sign-ups. Public Works Director Kenny Cole told the Board the current sign-up deadline is set for January 1, 1997. He recommended extending the sign-up period to February 3, 1997. This extension would allow enough time to complete a door-to-door survey by the Cooperative Extension Service. Commissioner Moretz moved to extend the sign-up deadline to February 3, 1997. Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously.
