Economic Development Director Bob Heuts stated that a strategic planning meeting <br />was scheduled for September 15, 2010 at which time the EDC Board will begin work on a <br />strategic plan to be presented to all boards by January 1, 2011. <br />Mr. Heuts discussed Lee County statistics, unemployment statistics and recent projects <br />completed such as Axxor, Frontier Spinning, Parkdale, and Challenge Printing. Work is still in <br />process with a Dutch printing company on a possible relocation to the area that would employ <br />up to 35 new employees. Mr. Heuts stated that he had received thirty-ej'rht visits for new <br />9 <br />projects since January 2010. Monthly meetings are also held with BRACjepresentatives and <br />RTP to market Lee County.
