A.
Information
Meeting Date: July 19, 2010 XX Action Item
- Consent Agenda
SUBJECT: Energy Savings and Energy Grants for Lee County Buildings
General Services/Administration
CONTACT PERSON: John Crumpton - Daniel Dowell with Linc Services
REQUEST: Discussion and Direction on Investment Grade Energy Audit
• SUMMARY: The County was approached by Linc Energy Services and McGill
and Associates about conducting an energy audit and applying for energy grant funds through the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Linc Energy conducted the energy audit and McGill
and Associates helped complete the grant application. The County was notified 4 weeks ago that
we were awarded the energy grant in the amount of $170,000. This notice allowed us to begin
reviewing the entire energy audit plan. The audit plan shows where savings can be achieved by
upgrading our facilities so that less energy will be used. The energy savings are used to finance
the improvements in the buildings. Daniel Dowell with Linc Services will be present to explain the
audit how the financing of the improvements can work.
BUDGET IMPACT: Will be discussed as part of the presentation.
ATTACHMENT(S): (1) Investment Grade Audit Report from Linc Services
(2) Power point presentation
PUBLIC HEARING: No
PRIOR BOARD ACTION: Board of Commissioners approved conducting the energy audit at
their October 191h, 2009 meeting.
RECOMMENDATION: Review audit. Once the Board feels comfortable with the plan, allow
the County staff and Linc Services to begin the RFQ process.
u
