After
reviewing expenditures for gas and other costs involved with the COLTS operation, as
well as fares rates charged by surrounding counties, it is their recommendation to raise
the fare rates as follows per trip:
Location
Current
Proposed
City to City
$1.50
$2.00
County to City
$3.00
$4.00
Out of Town Med
$5.00
$7.50
The NC DOT Rural General Public funds will continue to offset the remaining cost of
each trip averaged at $7.63. The rates have not been adjusted since the
system began in 1992.
I would like to request the approval of these rates by the Lee County Board of
Commissioners at their November 15, 2004 meeting. If additional information is needed,
please contact me.
Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,
Debbie Davidson
Executive Director
Cc: Bob McCarthy - Chair, Lee County Transportation Advisory Board
LEE COUNTY SENIOR SERVICES
1615 South Third Street, Sanford, North Carolina 27330 TEL 919-776-0501 FAX 919-774-7593;-
