e3 oK, 40 FACE 8 <br />MINUTES <br />DRUG-CRIME MEETING <br />OCTOBER 26, 2004 <br />A meeting of the Drug-Crime Committee met at 4:00 p.m. on this date in the <br />Gordon Wicker Conference Room at the Lec County Government Center, 106 Flillcrest <br />Drive. Sanford, North Carolina. <br />Commissioners attending the meeting were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, <br />Jerry M. Lemmond, Bertha L. Matthews, and Nathan E. Paschal. Commissioners Robert <br />T. Reives and Amy L. Stevens were not present. <br />Others in attendance were County Manager David Smitherman, House <br />Representative John Sauls, representatives from C.A.D. (Citizens Against Drugs), Chief <br />Kevin Bryant, and Lee County Deputy John Albertson. No one attended the meeting <br />from the City of Sanford. <br />Commissioner Chad Adams opened the meeting and facilitated. <br />Deputy John Albertson updated everyone on the "Target Teams" that are <br />patrolling areas. <br />Representative John San15 shared his views on "structured sentencing." <br />Commissioner Adams asked that County Manager David Smitherman, City <br />Manager Leonard Barefoot, Sheriff Billy Bryant, and Police Chief Ronnie Yarborough <br />decided on a time that will be convenient to schedule a second meeting for the group to <br />meet. <br />Commissioner Adams read a statement from Commissioner Reives who could not <br />attend the meeting. <br />With no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned. <br />NORTH CAROLINA, i_EF COU, ~ <br />e !~e for registr pion on the ~ day <br />20,6" at :n „F:1/P <br />recorded in Book ~D Page <br />Nellie W.
