0 fi UUA ;'0 FNG4 89 <br />The Board considered matters pertaining to the Emergency Management Office. <br />Commissioner Adams moved to approve the following matters for the Emergency <br />Management Office: <br />• Memorandum of Agreement between Lee County and the State of North <br />Carolina for the 2004 State Homeland Security Grant Program <br />• Continuity of Operations Plan using State Homeland Security grant funds <br />• Agreement with TriData, Inc. for a 'fire department study <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal. Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chainnan ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the purchase of a new vehicle for the Emergency <br />Management Office. Emergency Management Director Jim Groves told the Board he <br />had received the following bids to purchase a new vehicle for his department: <br />4x4 2004 Dodge Durango U.S. 1 Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep $24,984.50 <br />Sanford. NC <br />4x4 2004 Dodge Durango Hendrick Dodge/Sprinter $24,809.30 <br />Cary, NC <br />4x4 2004 Ford Explorer Capital Ford $26,886.41 <br />Raleigh, NC <br />After some discussion, Commissioner Adams moved to purchase a new 4x4 Dodge <br />Durango from U.S. I Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep at a price of $24,984.50. Upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, and Stevens <br />Nay: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one vote. <br />At this time, the Board held a public hearing to hear comments concerning the <br />acceptance of a Local Law Enforcement Block Grant to purchase two (2) in-car cameras <br />for the Sheriffs Department. Capt. James Estes told the Board that grant funds total <br />$3,668 with a local match of $408. Chairman Hincks opened the public hearing that had <br />been advertised for this date and time. <br />Capt. James Estes from the Lee County Sheriffs Office spoke in favor of the <br />purchase and explained the need for the cameras. <br />3 <br />
