Approval to allow Health Department to reclassify the next <br />Animal Control Officer 11 vacancy to a Shelter Attendant <br />• DOT traffic study for Edwards Road and Sheriff Watson Road <br />• DOT traffic study for intersection at South Plank Road and Hwy. 42 East <br />• Reimbursement for overpayment of room occupancy taxes to Palomino <br />Motel <br />• Proclamation for Domestic [violence Awareness Month and Nalional Unify <br />Day (copy attached) <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Reives discussed with the Board concerns he had with the <br />Sandhills merger for mental health. Mr. Reives stated that not all staff is being offered <br />positions and no job descriptions or salary information will be available until full <br />negotiations are available. The Sandhills Area Board will be meeting on October 12, <br />2004, and County Manager David Smitherman will attend the meeting on behalf of the <br />Lee-Harnett Mental Health Authority. Mr. Reives asked that Mr. Smitherman supply the <br />Board with a report from the October 12`h meeting at the Lee County Board of. <br />Commissioners meeting in November. <br />Commissioner Reives asked Board members if anyone had additional information <br />concerning AMENDMENT ONE. Discussion followed but no action was taken. <br />Commissioner Lenunond discussed Nvith the Board concerns he had from the <br />drub crime discussion that took place at the September Board meeting. Commissioner <br />Lemmond moved that the County hire one additional person for the City-County Drug <br />Unit. After further discussion. Commissioner Stevens made a substitute motion to table <br />the matter until after the October 26. 2004, Drug-Crime Forum meeting. Upon a vote of <br />the substitute motion, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Paschal, and Stevens <br />Nay: Lenurtond, Matthews, and Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the substitute motion had been adopted by a four to three <br />vote. <br />1) <br />
