F cF 87 Cunn ~..V MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE. STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA OCTOBER 11. 2004 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:00 o'clock a.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lemmond, Bertha L. Mathews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and Amy L. Stevens. Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. Rev. Frank Lloyd, Pastor of Carbonton United Methodist Church delivered the invocation and led the pledge of allegiance. The Board considered changes to the agenda. Commissioner Paschal asked that a letter be sent to the Department of Transportation asking that a road study be completed for the intersection of South Plank Road and Hwy. 42. Commissioner Lemmond asked that the Board discuss the drug-crime problem in Lee County. Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the above additions to the agenda. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve the following consent agenda items as amended: • Minutes of the September 20, 2004 regular meeting • Tax Releases and Refunds for September 2004 (copy attached) • Improvement project at O. T. Sloan Park to celebrate Rotary International Centennial • Consider request from the Sheriffs Office to adopted a county ordinance to prohibit Begging/Soliciting Alms • Allocation from the North Carolina General Assembly for additional Child Welfare staffing position in Social Services • Agreement between the County of Lee and Cole Layer Trumble Company (CLT) for 2004 maintenance support
