F cF 87 <br />Cunn ~..V <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE. STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />OCTOBER 11. 2004 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 9:00 o'clock a.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee <br />County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. <br />Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lemmond, <br />Bertha L. Mathews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and Amy L. Stevens. <br />Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. <br />Rev. Frank Lloyd, Pastor of Carbonton United Methodist Church delivered the <br />invocation and led the pledge of allegiance. <br />The Board considered changes to the agenda. Commissioner Paschal asked that a <br />letter be sent to the Department of Transportation asking that a road study be completed <br />for the intersection of South Plank Road and Hwy. 42. Commissioner Lemmond asked <br />that the Board discuss the drug-crime problem in Lee County. Commissioner Paschal <br />moved to approve the above additions to the agenda. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve the following consent agenda items <br />as amended: <br />• Minutes of the September 20, 2004 regular meeting <br />• Tax Releases and Refunds for September 2004 (copy attached) <br />• Improvement project at O. T. Sloan Park to celebrate Rotary International <br />Centennial <br />• Consider request from the Sheriffs Office to adopted a county ordinance <br />to prohibit Begging/Soliciting Alms <br />• Allocation from the North Carolina General Assembly for additional <br />Child Welfare staffing position in Social Services <br />• Agreement between the County of Lee and Cole Layer Trumble <br />Company (CLT) for 2004 maintenance support <br />
