MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />JUNE 21, ?004 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 3:00 o'clock p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee <br />County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. <br />Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lemmond, <br />Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and Amy L. Stevens. <br />Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted: <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle delivered the invocation and led the pledgc,of <br />allegiance. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items. Various Commissioners added <br />the following items to the agenda along with the County Attorney and County Manager: <br />■ Commissioner Hincks - Closed session for the purpose of considering the <br />conditions of initial employment of a County Manager <br />• Commissioner Matthews - Discussion concerning dead animals on the right-of- <br />way <br />• Commissioner Lemmond - Voting delegate for the NACo Conference in <br />Phoenix. Arizona <br />■ Commissioner Reives - Discussion concerniu, new vehicles for the Sheriffs <br />Department and a matter concerning Mental Health <br />• County Manager William Cowan - Request to release county funds to the Lee <br />County Partnership for Children and approval to fill a vacant Income <br />Maintenance Caseworker I position in the Day Care Unit of Social Services <br />• County Attorney K. R. Hoyle - Approval of the grant from the Parks and <br />Recreation Trust Fund (PARTP) for Tramway Road Park <br />Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve the above additions to the agenda. Upon a <br />vote. the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />
