In reading his response, it indicates that the County purchase of a portion of the WB
Wicker School Property (the "Subject Property") from Brick Capital Community Development
Corporation involved some "actual incident of fraud within the government".
In developing this response, I have performed the following:
Reviewed the survey responses of Commissioner Kirk Smith to you.
2. Reviewed the minutes of the September 8, 2015 Lee County Board of
Education meeting wherein that Board unanimously adopted a motion to
recommend to the Lee County Board of Commissioners that the WB
Wicker Property be the preferred site for their next elementary school.
Reviewed the September 9, 2015 letter from Lee County Board of
Education to the County stating they had unanimously approved the WB
Wicker property as their preferred site for their next elementary school.
4. Reviewed the minutes of the May 2, 2016 Lee County Board of
Commissioners meeting wherein the Board voted 6 to 1 (Commissioner
Smith dissenting) to approve the Agreement for Purchase and Sale of Real
Property involving the Subject Property.
Mailing Address: Post Office Box 705, Fayetteville, North Carolina 28302
