Currin was employed as a Lee County Deputy from May 3, 1978, to <br />March 21, 1980, when he left and became the Police Chief for the Town of Broadway; and, <br />WHEREAS, Ronnie Currin returned to work for the Lee County Sheriff's Office as Chief Deputy on <br />December I, 1986, and has worked closely with the Sanford Police Department and was instrumental in the success of <br />the City-County Drug Unit; and, <br />WHEREAS, Ronnie Currin has submitted his resignation as Chief Deputy for Lee County effective March <br />31, 2004; and, <br />WHEREAS, Ronnie Curtin was instrumental in securing grants to provide the first Domestic Violence <br />Investigator in Lee County and upgrading all equipment for the Sherifrs Office such as radios, bulletproof vests, <br />mobile data terminals and in-car cameras; and, <br />WHEREAS, Ronnie Currin has been a dedicated employee and devoted co-worker and his earned the <br />admiration and high regard of those with whom he has come into contact and the affection of his fellow public <br />servants, who are proud to call him "friend," and. <br />WHEREAS, for the past nineteen years and three months Ronnie Currin has exhibited dedication and <br />outstanding service to the citizens of Lee County. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Lee County Board of Commissioners does hereby <br />express its sincere appreciation and thanks to Ronald (Ronnie) M. Currin for his distinguished service to the <br />community and extend to him their best wishes in his future endeavors. <br />this the 31' day <br />
