Memorandum of Agreement Between 000 8 <br />Lee County Health Department and Lee County Schools <br />Lee County Schools (LCS) and Lee County Health Department (LCHD) share views on the appropriateness <br />of educational and health collaboration to prevent health issues from becoming reasons for educational or <br />social failure. Lee County Schools and Lee County Health Department agree to cooperate in providing a <br />comprehensive program of school health services. Achievement of goals will be through joint planning, shared <br />implementation and maintenance of effective channels of communication between agencies. <br />This agreement shall cover a period of August 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017. <br />The following components constitute the cooperative plan: <br />Lee County Health Department Division of Personal Care Services will: <br />A. Provide assistance in confirming positive tuberculin skin tests. The health department provides testing <br />and follow-up only for those individuals who meet state at -risk TB standards. <br />B. Collaborate with school health professionals on the on-site administration of immunizations. <br />C. Provide resource and referral information, answer inquiries regarding immunizations and <br />communicable disease control, inclusive of crisis intervention. <br />D. Work with the Superintendent of Schools and the Director of Student Services for intervention and/or <br />problem solving in any of the areas that includes health department functions. <br />E. Provide supervision and liability coverage for school (health) personnel during an emergency or <br />disaster event. <br />F. To provide funds not to exceed $150,000.00 to Lee County Schools for the purpose of supporting <br />(one or more) (10, 11 or 12 )-month nationally certified school nurse(s) or registered nurse(s) <br />working toward certification to provide school nursing services for the 2016-2017 school year. <br />G. Funding will be paid monthly upon submission of an invoice that specifies personnel and other <br />allowable costs and that the Lee County Health Department shall pay Lee County Schools within <br />thirty (30) days of receipt of the invoice. Any adjustments to the invoice shall be taken into account in <br />the next succeeding invoice or as soon thereafter as reasonably practical. <br />H. Funding may be used only for personnel costs (salary and fringe) and continuing education costs up <br />to $750 per School Nursing Funding Initiative position. <br />Division of Environmental Health will: <br />A. Inspect school cafeterias up to four times annually. <br />
