einx 19 FACF 75? <br />the December 15, 2003, meeting, Mr. Hanes asked that the Board approve a $10,000 <br />request for the prenatal care program (mid-wife services) through June 30, 2004. The <br />matter was tabled until the first meeting in January so a meeting could be held with <br />hospital representatives to try and work out an agreement. Mr. Hanes told the Board that <br />the hospital was willing to extend the program until the end of February 2004, and <br />approximately $7,000 would be needed to keep the program running through the Health <br />Department until the end of the fiscal year. After some discussion, Chairman Hincks <br />stated that he would discuss the matter with hospital CEO Dale Armstrong and report to <br />the Board at the next meeting. <br />The Board considered a request from the City of Sanford to request funds from <br />the E-911 Wireless fund. County Manager William Cowan told the Board that he had <br />received notification from the City of Sanford that all E.M.D. training had been <br />completed for dispatchers. He told the Board that Central Carolina Hospital (EMS) had <br />agreed to purchase card sets that dispatchers will use that will cost approximately $1,500. <br />The City of Sanford is requesting a total of $25,565.50 from the Wireless E-911 fund <br />account to pay for O.S.S.I. interface software ($6,300), along with $19,265.50 for the <br />E.M.D. program. Commissioner Reives moved to approve the request for $25,565.50 <br />from the Wireless E911 fund for the above request. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Matthews <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Lemmond discussed with the Board concerns he had concerning <br />the weekend jail escape of five inmates and jail security concerns. After some <br />discussion, Commissioner Lemmond agreed to schedule a tour for Commissioners of the <br />Lee County Jail. <br />Commissioner Reives discussed a recent progress report for water system analysis <br />from Robert Roop of the Timmons Group. Public Works Director Kenny Cole told the <br />Board that all data collected from the City of Sanford had been completed and a technical <br />report from AH Environmental had been completed providing evaluation of the results. <br />Mr. Cole stated that the Timmons Group recommended that a sector of the service area <br />which can be isolated, should be utilized for testing, which could include 4-6 intermittent <br />points and related flushing locations. He further stated that in order to obtain sufficient <br />data to ascertain the best procedure to maintain residual requirements with minimum <br />flushing the following is recommended: <br />• Meet with County and City representatives to review procedures and <br />determine the best area to use for testing <br />• Implement testing procedures as outline in the evaluation procedure <br />which will be accomplished by the City <br />3 <br />
