® eco0 r~cF 740 <br />Yarborough's listing was mailed February 18, 2003, and according to North Carolina <br />General Statute, any listing postmarked after January 3151 is considered late. His <br />recommendation to the Board was to deny the request. After some discussion, <br />Commissioner Stevens moved to approve Mr. Kepley's recommendation to deny the <br />request. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a request from Central Carolina Community College <br />(CCCC) to appropriate funds for a national search for a new college president. Dr. <br />Marvin Joyner, President of CCCC asked that the Board allow him to transfer $1,700 <br />within his budget to assist Harnett County and Chatham County with the search. Harnett <br />County's share will also be $1,700 and Chatham County's share will be S1,100, for a <br />total of $4,500. Chairman Hincks moved to approve the request to allow the college to <br />transfer $1,700 of current funds for the national search for a new college president. Upon <br />a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered bids for a new telephone system at the Sheriff's Office and <br />Register of Deeds Office. htforntation Services Director Lesa Price told the Board that <br />she had received the following bids: <br />Advanced Communication $43,275.00 <br />Alltel $57,229.00 (no growth available) <br />Sprint $60,107.95 (allows for growth) <br />Mrs. Price told the Board that she recommended Sprint because their plan would allow <br />for growth with an additional digital line card (port availability) installed upfront. After <br />some discussion, Commissioner Stevens moved to approve the recommendation of Mrs. <br />Price to award the bid to Sprint at a cost of $60,107.95. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a request from the Lee County Planning Board to propose a <br />six-month moratorium on teleconmiLill ication towers.
