BOOK 19 PILE 738 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />JANUARY 12, 2004 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 9:00 o'clock a.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee <br />County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. <br />Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lemmond, <br />Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and Amy L. Stevens <br />Chairman Herb Hincks presided and the following business was transacted: <br />Rev. George Akers delivered the invocation and led the pledge of allegiance. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items. Commissioner Stevens asked that <br />the Board discuss an advertisement for the County Manager's position, Commissioner <br />Lemmond asked that the Board discuss recent vandalism to county vehicles located at the <br />Govermnent Center, Commissioner Reives asked for an update concerning the Water <br />Committee, and Commissioner Adams asked that the Board discuss a joint meeting with <br />city officials concerning water issues and concerns. Commissioner Adams moved to <br />approve the agenda as printed with the above additions. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Reives moved to approve the Consent Agenda, which consisted of <br />the following items: <br />o Approval of the minutes from the December 15, 2003, regular meeting <br />o Acceptance of 5400 donation to Youth Services from the Kiwanis Club of <br />Sanford <br />o Approval to fill vacant Human Resource Placement Specialist position in <br />the Work First Program (Social Services) <br />o Approval to fill vacant Child Support Processing Assistant III position in <br />the Child Support Office (Social Services) <br />o Approval to fill Accounting Technician II position in the Administrative <br />Unit (Social Services) <br />
