OOA <br />LEEl COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />ANNUAL PLANNING RETREAT <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />BUGGY FACTORY <br />115 CHATHAM STREET <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />JANUARY 26 - 27, 2017 <br />The annual Board Retreat of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of <br />North Carolina, convened at 5:30 p.m., Thursday January 26, 2017, in the first floor conference <br />room at the Buggy Factory, 115 Chatham Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners <br />attending included Amy M. Dalrymple, Kevin Dodson, Dr. Andre Knecht, Larry "Doc" Oldham, <br />Robert T. Reives, Cameron W. Sharpe, and Timothy S. Sloan. Staff members in attendance were <br />County Manager John Crumpton, County Attorney Whitney Parrish, Finance Director Lisa Minter, <br />Management Assistant Michael Silverman, and Clerk to the Board Jennifer Gamble. <br />Chair Dalrymple called the Retreat to order. <br />Commissioner Sloan delivered the invocation. <br />At this time, the Board proceeded with dinner and discussions regarding Commissioner <br />goals. Proposed goals included addressing concerns regarding trash along roadways, expansion <br />and economic development in Lee County, plans for the new W.B. Wicker School, building <br />relationships between law enforcement and the youth, and rerouting Kelly Drive in front of the <br />Community College. <br />Commissioner Revies departed the meeting at 7:30 p.m. <br />Upon return, Commissioner Sloan moved to add a closed session item to the agenda. Upon <br />a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Dodson, Knecht, Oldham, Sharpe, Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Reives <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The following items were discussed during the course of the Retreat: <br />State of the County Report — Management Assistant Michael Silverman presented the State <br />of the County Report.
