049 (a) The Lump Sum Price for Item #1 'Mobilization' may not exceed ten percent (10%) of the Unit Price Bid Amount. (b) Item #5 'Undercut Material and Disposal' does not include the stripping of topsoil within the limit of disturbance. Item #5 will only be paid for removal of unsuitable material, as determined by the Engineer, below the existing pipe trench or ditch excavation as shown on the standard detail on the construction drawings. (c) Excavation of Partially Weathered Rock (PWR) may be required for this project. See Specification 02220 'Earthwork, Backfilling, and Compacting' for additional specifications regarding rock excavation. Note that the Owner may raise the vertical alignment of the sewer service line to avoid extensive rock excavation. (d) The unit price for Item #6 '4 -inch Sanitary Sewer Service' shall be for the alignment and profile specified in the construction drawings. However, the Owner may instruct the contractor to install the pipe at a shallower depth than what is depicted in the profile (at no change to any of the unit prices). (e) The unit price schedule in the Bid Form shall be used in evaluating monthly progress payments. (f) Unit abbreviations are defined as: LS = Lump Sum; CY = Cubic Yard; CF = Cubic Feet; SY = Square Yard; LF = Linear Feet; EA = Each. (g) In the event the Contractor discovers an item of work not listed in the Bid Form, he shall include his cost for this work in a related item listed. (h) Bids shall include sales tax and all other applicable taxes, permits, bonds, fees and inspection fees. Bidder understands that all costs for performing incidental work necessary for the work as shown and specified, shall be included in the bid price. (I) Discrepancies in the multiplication of units of work and unit prices shall be resolved in favor of the unit prices; discrepancies between the indicated sum of any column of figures and the correct sum thereof will be resolved in favor of the correct sum. (j) Unit Prices have been computed in accordance with the General Specifications. (k) Bidder acknowledges that estimated quantities are not guaranteed, and are solely for the purpose of comparison of Bids, and final payment for all Unit Price Bid items will be based on actual quantities provided, determined as indicated in the contract documents. 6. Bidder understands that the Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive formalities in the bidding. 7. On being awarded the Contract, the Bidder will execute Performance and Payment Bonds on the forms included herein, each equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, as security for the faithful performance of the Contract.
