Information XX Action Item + Public Hearing Consent Agenda 100 SUBJECT: To hold a public hearing and vote on an incentive for Project Sandman DEPARTMENT: Administration CONTACT PERSON: Whitney Parrish, County Attorney REQUEST: To hold a public hearing and vote on Project Sandman SUMMARY: At the December 19, 2016 regular meeting of the Commissioners, a public hearing was held, after being duly advertised for Project Sandman. The advertisement needed to be re -run and a new public hearing held January 3, 2017. The proposed incentive is for a taxable investment of up to $56.5 million dollars in the County over the five-year period, in which the Company will construct a maintenance facility and purchase machinery and equipment. The Company will hire at least 46 new employees over a 5 -year period with an average wage of $78,370.00. The incentive is for up to $638,783 to be spent from the County's General Fund over the five-year period. BUDGET IMPACT: ATTACHMENT(S): PUBLIC HEARING: PRIOR BOARD ACTION Up to $638,783 over a five-year period Sanford Herald Notice for Public Hearing from December 23, 2016. One held December 19, 2016 and a new one to be held January 3, 2017 The Board held a public hearing on the project on December 19, 2016 and will hold another public hearing on January 3, 2017. RECOMMENDATION: To vote on the incentive for Project Sandman.
