County Manager's Report — November 21, 2016
Ongoing Projects
San Lee Park — Work is progressing on the new Nature Center. The Main Steel support
system has been completed. The County continues to work on the new sewer line. This
project is still tracking towards completion in May 2017. We are also working with the
contractor of the metal storage building to prepare that site as well. We anticipate having
the steel for that building by the end of November. Weather permitting the storage facility
should be up and dried in by January.
Old Bowling Alley — General Services has taken bids on the Old Bowling Alley. Those
bids are being evaluated. We will try to get the bid review to the Board at the first meeting
in December.
CCCC Projects — Attached please find the most recent update from the architect on the
bond projects. We are moving toward having four projects under construction by
February. In addition, we are moving toward selling the bonds through the Local
Government Commission the first week of February. Attached is the bond calendar the
Davenport & Associates and our bond counsel have developed.
Other Items
Hurricane Matthew Update — December 9th is the last day for citizens in Lee County to
apply for disaster assistance from FEMA. Citizens can either apply on line or in person
in Johnston or Cumberland Counties. These two sites are the closest FEMA temporary
offices which remain open.
Reports
Building Inspections Report — Please find attached the October Building Inspections
Report.
Community Development/Activity Summary — October's report was presented to the
Commissioners at the October 31d meeting.
Tax Report — Please find attached the Tax Collection Summary Report for October.
Sandhills Center — Report for October is attached.
