003 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />JOINT MEETING BETWEEN THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, <br />SANFORD AREA GROWTH ALLIANCE (SAGA), <br />SANFORD CITY COUNCIL, AND BROADWAY TOWN COMMISSIONERS <br />McSWAIN EXTENSION EDUCATION & AGRICULTURAL CENTER <br />2420 TRAMWAY ROAD <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />OCTOBER 12, 2016 <br />The joint meeting between the Lee County Board of Commissioners, Sanford Area Growth <br />Alliance (SAGA), Sanford City Council, and Broadway Town Commissioners convened at 6:30 p.m. at <br />the McSwain Extension Education & Agricultural Center, 2420 Tramway Road, Sanford, North Carolina, <br />on said date. Commissioners present for the meeting were Amy M. Dalrymple, Dr. Ricky D. Frazier, Dr. <br />Andre Knecht, Larry "Doc" Oldham, Timothy S. Sloan, and Kirk D. Smith. Commissioner Robert T. <br />Reives was absent from the meeting. Staff in attendance included Finance Director/Assistant County <br />Manager Lisa Minter (on behalf of County Manager John Crumpton), County Attorney Whitney Parrish <br />and Clerk to the Board Gaynell Lee. <br />Lee Anne Nance, Facilitator of the meeting welcomed everyone. <br />Each member introduced themselves and stated which Board they represented. <br />Chair Dalrymple called the meeting to order for the Lee County Board of Commissioners. <br />Boards' were presented with the following 3 discussion topics and each member was asked to <br />respond to each question: <br />• Should the public sector — the City of Sanford, Town of Broadway and <br />Lee County Government — continue to fund the Sanford Area Growth <br />Alliance's economic development efforts after the current fundraising <br />campaign is complete? <br />• Should Lee County and the City of Sanford commit to provide funding <br />required to certify Central Carolina Enterprise Park as shovel ready and <br />to market the property? <br />• Should the County and City provide economic development incentives to <br />attract industry and to assist with industry expansion? <br />A summary of action items will be provided to each Board. <br />With no further business to come before the Boards', Commissioner Oldham moved to adjourn <br />the joint meeting for the Lee County Board of Commissioners. <br />
