AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP <br />OF LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA 0,32 <br />WHEREAS, a request to amend the Official Zoning Map has been received from Wake Stone <br />Corporation (2016-1001) to rezone a total of 1.15 -acres of land formerly addressed as 6631 Deep <br />River Road from Residential Agricultural (RA) district to Heavy Industrial (HI) district. The <br />property is the same as depicted on Lee County Tax Maps 9667.02, 9668.04, 9677 and 9678, <br />being all of Tax Parcel 9667-79-0094 (.98 -acs.), and a portion of Tax Parcel 9668-90-1067 <br />(0.17 -acs.), Lee County Land Records. The property is also the same as illustrated on a survey <br />for Wake Stone Corporation recorded in Plat Cabinet 10, Slide 1717, Lee County Registry of <br />Deeds; and <br />WHEREAS, said request has been presented to the Lee County Planning Board; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners conducted a public hearing on October <br />17, 2016 to receive citizen input on the requested zoning map amendment; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners approves the request to amend the <br />Official Zoning Map of Lee County, North Carolina; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF <br />COMMISSIONERS: <br />The Official Zoning Map is hereby amended to rezone Lee County Tax Parcel 9667-79-0094 and <br />a portion of Tax Parcel 9668-90-1067 from Residential Agricultural (RA) district to Heavy <br />Industrial (HI) district. See attached map for reference. <br />In making this decision, the Board of Commissioners hereby finds that, although the request is <br />not consistent with the 2020 Land Use Plan or Deep River Small Area Plan, the request is <br />reasonable due to the small size of subject property, and its location to the existing quarry <br />operation. <br />ADOPTED this the day of 2016. <br />Amy M.
