A. <br />Information <br />Meeting Date: November 7, 2016 XX Action Item <br />Consent Agenda <br />028 <br />SUBJECT: Planning Board Recommendation for an Official Zoning Map <br />Amendment for Wake Stone Corp. <br />DEPARTMENT: Sanford/Lee County Zoning and Design Review Department <br />CONTACT PERSON: Amy McNeill, Zoning Administrator <br />REQUEST: Consider Recommendation and Make Final Decision on Rezoning <br />Request for Wake Stone Corp. <br />SUMMARY: Application by Wake Stone Corporation to rezone a total of 1.15 - <br />acres of land formerly addressed as 6631 Deep River Road from Residential Agricultural (RA) <br />district to Heavy Industrial (HI) district. The property is the same as depicted on Lee County <br />Tax Maps 9667.02, 9668.04, 9677 and 9678, being all of Tax Parcel 9667-79-0094 (.98 -acs.), <br />and a portion of Tax Parcel 9668-90-1067 (0.17 -acs.), Lee County Land Records. The property <br />is also the same as illustrated on a survey for Wake Stone Corporation recorded in Plat Cabinet <br />10, Slide 17F, Lee County Registry of Deeds. <br />BUDGET IMPACT: N/A <br />ATTACHMENT(S): 1) Recommendation of the Planning Board with Staff Report <br />2) Ordinance to Amend the Official Zoning Map of Lee County <br />Zoning Map <br />PUBLIC HEARING: No <br />PRIOR BOARD ACTION: A joint public hearing was held with the Planning Board on <br />October 17, 2016. At the public hearing, Mr. Tom Oxholm, Vice President of Wake Stone <br />Corporation spoke in favor of the request. One neighbor and two family members of nearby <br />property owners spoke in opposition to the request. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Recommended Approval of the Application as Presented (by a 5 <br />to 2 vote). <br />
