BK -00028 PG:0428 <br />All of these issues will have to be overcome to make the pool usable year-round, such as enclosing the <br />pool and heating the pool and bathhouse, and to become compatible to hold USA Swimming meets. <br />Mr. Crumpton stated he was working with the YMCA to let the swim team continue swimming at the <br />Nautilus for a little longer. After discussion, Commissioner Oldham made a motion for staff to move <br />forward with pool renovations as referenced above. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, Sloan, and Smith <br />Nay: None <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />At this time Chair Dalrymple called for a 5 -minute recess before the scheduled public hearings <br />with the Lee County Planning Board. <br />Upon returning from recess, with all members present, Chair Dalrymple called the meeting back <br />to order and went into the Public Hearing session of the meeting that had been advertised for this date <br />and time. <br />Director of Planning and Development Marshall Downey outlined the public hearings for text <br />amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) for "Wine Shops" and "Outdoor Advertising <br />Billboard Signs". <br />Chair Dalrymple opened the public hearing for Wine Shops. <br />No one present spoke for or against text amendments to allow Wine Shops as proposed. <br />Chair Dalrymple closed the public hearing and opened the public hearing for Billboard Signs. <br />No on present spoke for or against text amendments in reference to Outdoor Advertising of <br />Billboard Signs as proposed. <br />Chair Dalrymple closed the public hearing. <br />Planning Board members and Planning staff adjourned at this time to the Gordon Wicker <br />Conference Room to continue discussion. Action on the text amendments will be considered at the <br />October 3rd meeting of the Board of Commissioners. <br />Mr. Rick Lanier representing US Motto Action Committee (USMAC) completed the required <br />paperwork to appear before the Board and discuss the installation, at no cost to the County, "In God <br />We Trust" motto's on the entrance to the Lee County Courthouse, Lee County Government Center, and <br />in the Board's Chambers. Mr. Lanier shared with the Board a brief history of the Committee and some <br />of the recent motto's installed on Town Hall and County Courthouses across the State. Commissioner <br />Smith moved to approve a Resolution presented to place "In God We Trust" at the Lee County <br />Courthouse, Lee County Government Center, and Commissioners Chambers. After discussion, <br />Commissioner Reives moved to table the matter for further discussion. Upon a vote of Commissioner <br />Smith's original motion, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Knecht and Smith <br />Nay: Dalrymple, Frazier, Oldham, Reives, and Sloan <br />4 <br />
