BK:00028 PG -0421 County Manager's Report — August 15, 2016 Onaoina Proiects San Lee Park — The contract for this project has been signed. The pre -construction meeting occurred on Tuesday, August 2nd. The notice for CSI to proceed was given with the date of August 8th. The 240 days for completion started on this day. We are working with the contractor and architect on a date for a ground breaking ceremony in the next few weeks. Old Bowling Alley — Plans are still coming together for this project. Once bids are received we will be coming to the Board for funds and approval. We hope to be out to bid on this project in the next couple of weeks. Once this project is underway we will begin evaluating the Old Courthouse for renovations once Probation is relocated. Other Items Courthouse Security Requests — General Services has received numerous requests for security changes at the Courthouse since the recent shooting in the parking lot. After reviewing many of the requests, I have asked Russell Spivey to have all the departments and agencies put their requests in writing to the Commissioners. The changes being asked for are significant. It will require expenditures to be made that are not currently appropriated in the FY 2016-17 Budget. Some of the requests involve additional security cameras, lock down equipment, and parking changes. Government Center/Hillcrest Building Parking — I raised this issue in last month's report. Staff is still working with an adjoining property owner on the plan to close the "old club" road which runs behind the Hillcrest Building. Once we have a plan for parking and a driveway we will bring this to the Board of Commissioners. Reports Zika Virus — Attached is a report from Health Director Heath Cain on the Zika Virus. Mr. Cain is in constant contact with the State on this issue. The report attached is one he has sent to the Board of Health. With the recent issues arising in Florida, this is an issue we need to watch carefully. State Employees Credit Union (SECU) Building on Bragg Street — The attached site plan for the new SECU location on Bragg Street shows the facilities relationship to O.T. Sloan Park. This facility could be under construction very soon.
