BK:00028 PG -0402 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION <br />DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO ISSUE PERMITS FOR PUBLIC <br />PYROTECHNICS EXHIBITIONS CONDUCTED WITHIN CORPORATE LIMITS <br />TO MUNICPAL GOVERNING BODIES <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with North Carolina General Statute §14-413 (a), the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners issues permits in Lee County for public exhibition of pyrotechnics; and, <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute §14-413 (a1) allows the Board of Commissioners to <br />delegate to the governing body of any municipality within the county the authority to issue permits for <br />pyrotechnics to be exhibited, used, or discharged within the corporate limits of the municipality for use <br />in connection with public exhibitions. <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lee County Board of County Commissioners does hereby <br />delegate the authority for the governing bodies of all municipalities in Lee County to issue permits for <br />public exhibitions of pyrotechnics to be exhibited, used, or discharged within the corporate limits of <br />each respective city within Lee County, pursuant to the provisions of North Carolina General Statute § <br />14-413 (al). <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Lee County Board of Commissioners will herby continue to <br />issue pyrotechnic permits for exhibitions conducted outside municipal jurisdictions. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution shall remain in effect until withdrawn by the Lee <br />County Board of Commissioners. <br />day of August 2015. <br />M-. tee, Clerk to i6 Board <br />-40 <br />Amy M. alrymple, 4CCh?iir2r— <br />Lee <br />County Board of Commissioners <br />
