BK:00028 PG -.0399 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />PROCLAMATION HONORING MANUFACTURING DAY <br />IN LEE COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next <br />generation of manufacturers; and, <br />WHEREAS, although Manufacturing Day officially occurs on the first Friday in October — this year is <br />October 7, 2016 — any day can be a Manufacturing Day; and, <br />WHEREAS, Manufacturing Day will be recognized with events at both Mertek Solutions and the <br />Innovation Center of Lee County; and, <br />WHEREAS, Mertek Solutions Inc. provides Machine Design for Manufacturing Automation and <br />Manufacturing Equipment Design of all sorts, serving as a manufacturing solution consultant to Fortune <br />500 corporations and start-ups alike; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Innovation Center of Lee County is a world-class training center for industrial <br />innovation, with facilities including a simulated work environment, a fully -outfitted welding lab, an <br />instrumentation lab, as well as additional classroom space; and, <br />WHEREAS, Central Carolina Community College's Industry Services office works with industries in <br />Chatham, Harnett, and Lee counties to maximize success through quality workforce training; and, <br />WHEREAS, area industries currently confirmed to be showcased at the Innovation Center event <br />include Arauco, Caterpillar, Coty, Hydro Tube Enterprises, Magneti Marelli Powertrain USA, Mertek <br />Solutions, Olympic Steel, PalletOne, Pentair, Red Wolf, and STI Polymer; and, <br />WHEREAS, these Manufacturing Day events are an outstanding learning experience for students who <br />will indeed be our next generation of manufacturers. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, WE, THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, do hereby approve <br />this proclamation in recognition of Manufacturing Day with appreciation to the many manufacturing <br />companies of our community, as well as to the Innovation Center of Lee County and Central Carolina <br />Community College's Industry Services. <br />Adopted this 15th day of August 2016. <br />Amy M. balrymple, Ch it <br />ATTEST: Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />
