BK:00028 PG -0297 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP <br />OF LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />WHEREAS, a request to amend the Official Zoning Map has been received from AGA <br />Corporation to rezone from Residential Restricted (RR) district to General Commercial (C-2) <br />district approximately 1.53 -acres of vacant land located east of NC Highway 87 South and <br />formerly addressed as 4953 and 4957 NC Highway 87 South. The properties are the same as <br />depicted on Lee County Tax Maps 9660.01 and 9660.02, and being all of Tax Parcel 9660-56- <br />0839 and a portion of Tax Parcel 9660-57-1053, Lee County Land Records, and <br />WHEREAS, said request has been presented to the Lee County Planning Board; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners conducted a public hearing on May 16, <br />21, 2016 to receive citizen input on the requested zoning map amendment; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners approves the request to amend the <br />Official Zoning Map of Lee County, North Carolina; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF <br />COMMISSIONERS: <br />The Official Zoning Map is hereby amended to rezone 1.53± acres of land, being all of Lee <br />County Tax Parcel 9660-56-0839 and a portion of Tax Parcel 9660-57-1053 from Residential <br />Restricted (RR) district to General Commercial (C-2) district. See attached map for reference. <br />In making this decision, the Board of Commissioners hereby finds that while the 2020 Land Use <br />Plan did not specify a particular land use for this property, the request appears to be reasonable <br />and in the public interest based on information from the staff analysis, the public hearing and the <br />location of the lot is found to be consistent with the purpose statement of the proposed General <br />Commercial (C-2) district, and that the request conforms to the Greenwood Small Area Plan <br />which places the property within a retail -commercial land use classification. <br />ADOPTED this the (p- day o ,. 2016. <br />Amy M.
