C�5 <br />The following spoke in favor of the rezoning request: <br />Mr. Charles Brown, 304 Country Estates (owner of said property). Stated the <br />request was for a financial reason. <br />No one present spoke in opposition to the rezoning request. <br />Chair Dalrymple closed the public hearing. <br />At this time members of the Lee County Planning Board and staff retired to the Gordon Wicker <br />Conference Room for further deliberation. Recommendations from these hearings will be presented to <br />Commissioners for consideration at their June 6th meeting. <br />The fourth public hearing advertised was for the proposed FY 2016-17 Budget. County Manager <br />John Crumpton outlined his proposed budget presented at the previous meeting. <br />Chair Dalrymple opened the public hearing that had been advertised for this date and time. <br />The following spoke in favor of the proposed FY 2016-17 Budget: <br />1. Dr. Andy Bryan, 1508 Winterlocken Drive, Sanford, Superintendent of the <br />Lee County Schools. Dr. Bryan thanked Commissioners for their funding last <br />year and what the County Manager was recommending for the upcoming <br />current budget. <br />No one present spoke in opposition to the proposed Budget. <br />Economic Development Director Bob Joyce, 2003 Vantage Point, Sanford, stated he wished to <br />make a comment — neither for against the budget but on behalf of SAGA's request for additional <br />funding. Gave some updates on economic development projects over the past couple of years and <br />addressed the need for resources in marketing. Mr. Charles Welborn, 523 Chris Cole Road, Sanford, <br />also spoke on behalf of SAGA's budget request that the County Manager did not recommend. His <br />request was for Commissioners to fund SAGA at the increased level requested. <br />Chair Dalrymple closed the public hearing. <br />At this time Chair Dalrymple called for a 10 -minute recess. <br />Upon returning from recess, with all members present, the regular meeting resumed. <br />The Board discussed added security for Board of Commissioner meetings. Commissioner Reives <br />asked that the Board look into having a metal detector placed outside the Commissioners' Board Room. <br />After discussion, the County Manager was asked to get a price for a metal detector and installation as <br />discussed. Chair Dalrymple stated since the metal detectors are large and take up space maybe the <br />meetings could be moved to Courtroom #4 at the old Lee County Courthouse where units are already in <br />place. No action was taken. <br />Finance Director Lisa Minter presented Budget Amendment # 05/16/16/18 for the following <br />departments: <br />Sheriff — appropriate $3,226 from Insurance Refunds revenue to cover vehicle <br />maintenance. <br />0 <br />
