0 <br /> The Budget Estimate as filed for the fiscal'rear 1957-1958 was presented <br /> to the Board and gone over item by item. After full consideration of the <br /> various items of the Budget, Commissioner Kelly offered and moved the <br /> adoption of the following resolution: <br /> "WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Lee County has considered <br /> • • the various items of the Budget Estimate for the fiscal year 1957-1958; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> ' BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Lee County that the <br /> said budget estimate for the expenses of operation of the County of Lee and its <br /> various agencies and departments for the fiscal year 1957-58 be and the same <br /> hereby is tentatively adopted as the budget of Lee County for said fiscal year; <br /> and that the tax rate for said County of Lee be and the same hereby is <br /> tentatively fixed and established at One Dollar and thirty-five cents ($1. 35) <br /> for each One Hundred Dollars valuation of taxable property for the fiscal year <br /> 1957-58; and that special tax of fifteen cents be levied on;each One Hundred <br /> dollars valuation of taxable property in the Sanford Graded School District <br /> and the Jonesboro Graded School District for the fiscal year 1957-58. <br /> "BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said budget be filed and lie on the table <br /> in the Office of the Register of Deeds for at least twenty days for public <br /> inspection and that a summary of said budget and notice of filing of said budget <br /> in the Office of the Register of Deeds' be published in one or more newspapers <br /> of general circulation at least twenty days before its final adoption as the <br /> budget for the fiscal year 1957-1958." <br /> The motion was seconded by Commissioner Atkins. Those voting for said <br /> motion were Commissioners Kelly, ATkins and Measamer. Those voting <br /> against said motion wereAWinst�O to d and Cheshire. <br /> Commissioner Kelly introduced and moved the adoption of the following <br /> Interim Appropriation Resolution: <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Lee County: <br /> "Section 1. That in order to operate the County and its subdivisions and <br /> agencies from July 1, 1957, to the date of the adoption of the 1957-1958 Budget <br /> Resolution, appropriations are hereby made for the purpose of paying salaries <br /> the principal and interest on indebtedness, and the usual ordinary expenses <br /> of the County and its subdivisions and agencies at the same rate of expenditure <br /> as provided for in the budget for the fiscal year 1956-1957. <br /> "Section 2. This resolution shall cease to be effective from and after <br /> adoption of the 1957-1958 Budget Resolution, and all expenditures made in <br /> accordance with this resolution shall be chargeable to appropriations made in <br /> the 1957-58 Budget Resolution. The motion was seconded by Commissioner <br /> Atkins. Those voting in favor of said motion were Commissioners Kelly, <br /> Winstead, Cheshire, Atkins and Measamer. J. <br /> Morris. This motion was unanimously adopted and the meeting was adjourned. <br />
