The Board ordered this letter to be filed with Miss Una Gregson, County Auditor. Minutes of the Regular meeting of June 3, 1957jawsail minutes of the Special Called,Meeting of June 10. 1957 and minutes of the Special Adjourned Meeting of June 19, 1957 were read and approved. Garland Stone, Constable from East Sanford Township, appeared before the Board to request that he Is and Constable Stamey W. Measamer be 'granted a monthly salary for their services rendered as Constable. There then followed a detailed discussion of the duties and responsibilities of constables in Lee County. No formal action was taken on tle request of Constable Stone. D. F. Holder, Sheriff, presented monthly report of the activities of the Sheriff's department. .r.+yMio. At the afternoon session, Chairman'Fercy Measamer was present and presided. The folbwing business wa's'transacted; Mrs. Edith Park, Acting Supt. of Public Welfare, presented monthly report of the Welfare Department. Mrs. Park also discussed withthe Board the case of Billy E. Wicker and his wife and asked the Board for its advice in the handling of the case. There followed a discussion of certain charges concerning the affairs of the County, which charges were made by Constable Garland Stone. After full discussion of these matters, Commissioner Atkins moved that the Chairman of the Board be authorized to issue subpoena for Garland Stone to compel his attendance before the Board to be examined under oath relating to the affairs of the County. This motion was seconded by Commissioner Kelly. The vote on said motion was as follows: Atkins - aye Kelly - aye Winstead- passed Cheshire- passed Measamer - aye The Chairman thereupon declared the motion carried and the County Attorney was instructed to prepare the subpoena.
