Section 19. That in addition thereto, a poll tax of one dollar and fifty cents <br /> on each taxable poll and a dog tax of one dollar on each male dog and two dollars <br /> Con each female dog for the benefit and support of the schools of Lee County <br /> during the fiscal year aforesaid, subject to the application of the dog tax as other- <br /> wise by law provided, shall be levied and collected during said taxable year <br /> ending June 30, 1958. <br /> Section 20. That for the said special tax in Sanford Graded School District <br /> for the purpose of supplementing the current expense of operating the schools <br /> in said district of a higher standard than otherwise provided according to the <br /> appropriation resolution adopted for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1958, an ad <br /> valorem tax of fifteen cents on each one hundred dollars valuation of taxable <br /> property within said school district shall be levied and collected, said fund to <br /> be used solely for the purpose of said Sanford Graded School District. <br /> Section 21. That for said special tax in Jonesboro Graded School District <br /> for the purpose of supplementing the current expense of operating the schools in <br /> said District of a high standard than otherwise provided according to the appropriations <br /> resolution adopted for the fiscatyear ending June 30, 1958, an ad valorem tax of <br /> fifteen cents on each one hundred dollars valuation of taxable property with the said <br /> school district shall be levied and collected, said fund to be used solely for the <br /> purpose of said Jonesboro Graded School District. <br /> Section 22. There is hereby levied for the twelve months beginning June 1, <br /> 195 , a privilege license tax in the maximum amount permitted by Schedule B of <br /> the evenue Act, being Article 2 of Chapter 105 of the General Statutes of North <br /> Carolina, and by any other section or sections of the General Statutes, on each <br /> business, trade, .occupation and profession which counties are authorized and <br /> permitted to tax under Schedule B of the Revenue Act and by other sections of the <br /> General Statutes; and under the sections of the General Statutes which do not set <br /> such maximum amount, there is hereby levied for the twelve months beginning <br /> June 1, 1957, the following: (1) a privilege license tax in the amount of $200. 00 <br /> upon any person engaged in the practice of phrenology as defined and permitted,to <br /> be taxed under the provisions of G. S. 105-48; (2) a privilege license tax in the <br /> amount of $200. 00 on any Gypsies or strolling bands of persons as defined and <br /> permitted to be taxed under the provisions of G. S. 105-584 (a); and (3) a <br /> privilege license tax in the amount of $200. 00 on any person engaged in fortune <br /> telling or the practice of palmistry, clairvoyance and other crafts of similar <br /> kind as defined and permitted to be taxed under G. S. 105-58 (b) who are granted <br /> the right to practice such arts and crafts under Chapter 766, Session Laws of 1955. <br /> Section 23. Copies of this resolution shall be furnished to the County Accountant <br /> to be kept on file for her direction in the disbursement of County Funds. <br /> Upon a roll call vote n said res lutions, the following Commissioners voted <br /> for said motion; �� G2 . �,t nZtt a414-cw <br /> �' .
