Britton Kelly" <br /> TBK/jp <br /> On motion of Commissioner Cheshire, which motion was seconded <br /> by Commissioner Winstead, the resignation of T. Britton Kelly, as <br /> Constable of Jonesboro Township, was unanimously accepted by the Board. <br /> W. H. Campbell, County Tax Collector, presented report of the <br /> activities of the Tax Collector' s office for the month of October, 1957. <br /> On motion of Commissioner Kelly, which motion was second by <br /> Commissioner Atkins, a road petition covering a road in Cape Fear <br /> Township running from Jack McIver home to William Pearson home and <br /> known as the Jack McIver road, was unanimously adopted, which petition <br /> viietk requested that the road be added to the State Highway system and <br /> stabilized. Commissioner Cheshire then presented a road petition <br /> t covering a road in Deep River Township running from U. S. Highway No. <br /> 1 at Dr. Hunter' s farm to the lower Moncure Road and known as the <br /> Jones -Chapel Road. This petition requested that said road be paved. <br /> The motion for the adoption of said petition was seconded by Commis- <br /> sioner Kelly and the same was unanimously adopted by the Board. <br /> Commissioner Winstead moved that an error in listing property <br /> of Sanford Lion' s Club be corrected and that the Tax Collector be <br /> relieved of responsibility for the tax of $70.88 for the year 1957. <br /> This motion was seconded by Commissioner Kelly. Those voting in favor <br /> of said motion were Commissioners Kelly, Winstead, Cheshire, Atkins <br /> and Measamer. Those voting against said motion were None. The motion <br /> was declared unanimously adopted and the Clerk was instructed to advise <br /> the County Tax Collector and the County Tax Supervisor. <br /> Mrs. Laura B. Rosser, Acting Superintendent of Public Welfare, <br /> presented report of the activities of Welfare Department for the month <br /> of October, 1957. <br /> Commissioner Winstead moved that Charlie Goins be elected to <br /> fill the unexpired term of T. Britton Kelly, resigned, as Contable of <br /> Jonesboro Township. This motion was seconded by Commissioner Cheshire <br /> and the same was unanimously adopted. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, upon <br /> motion duly made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> Attested: Chairman <br /> Clerk <br />
