0 Township, running from Carbonton Road to Cool Springs, a distance of 1-1/2 miles, which said petition requested that said road, which is now a part of the State Highway System be improved and blacktopped. On motion of Commissioner Cheshire which motion was seconded by Commissioner Winstead, said petition was unanimously approved. The Board then considered the application of Bryan-Heights Fire Department for the approval by said Board of Commissioners to receive financial assistance from Lee County under the Lee County Rural Fire Protection Plan. On motion.of Commissioner Kelly, which motion was seconded by Commissioner Atkins, the application was unanimously transferred to the Lee County Fire Commission for study and recommendation. E. P. Clark, Caretaker of the Courthouse, reported on the condition of all Lee County Buildings. Dr. Jack C. Robertson, County Health Officer, presented the monthly report of the County Health Department, Hugh Talley, County Sanitarian, presented monthly report of his activities. • D. F. Holder, Sheriff, presented a report on the activities of the Sheriff's Department for the month of January, 1958. Mrs, Laura B. Rosser, acting Supt. of Public Welfare, presented report of the activities of the Welfare Department for the month of January, 1958. Commissioner Kelly introduced and moved the adoption of the following resolution, to-wit: WHEREAS,, it now appears thatthe funds heretofore appropriated for General Welfare Relief have been exhausted and that it is necessary for additional funds to be appropriated if%the program is to be carried out in this county; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that for the fisical year ending June 30, 1958 it is hereby appropriated out of the poor fund for General Welfare Relief the addition sum of $2, 500. 00.
