0 <br /> Township, running from Carbonton Road to Cool Springs, a distance of 1-1/2 <br /> miles, which said petition requested that said road, which is now a part of <br /> the State Highway System be improved and blacktopped. On motion of <br /> Commissioner Cheshire which motion was seconded by Commissioner <br /> Winstead, said petition was unanimously approved. <br /> The Board then considered the application of Bryan-Heights Fire <br /> Department for the approval by said Board of Commissioners to receive financial <br /> assistance from Lee County under the Lee County Rural Fire Protection Plan. <br /> On motion.of Commissioner Kelly, which motion was seconded by Commissioner <br /> Atkins, the application was unanimously transferred to the Lee County <br /> Fire Commission for study and recommendation. <br /> E. P. Clark, Caretaker of the Courthouse, reported on the condition <br /> of all Lee County Buildings. <br /> Dr. Jack C. Robertson, County Health Officer, presented the monthly <br /> report of the County Health Department, <br /> Hugh Talley, County Sanitarian, presented monthly report of his <br /> activities. • <br /> D. F. Holder, Sheriff, presented a report on the activities of the <br /> Sheriff's Department for the month of January, 1958. <br /> Mrs, Laura B. Rosser, acting Supt. of Public Welfare, presented <br /> report of the activities of the Welfare Department for the month of January, <br /> 1958. <br /> Commissioner Kelly introduced and moved the adoption of the following <br /> resolution, to-wit: <br /> WHEREAS,, it now appears thatthe funds heretofore appropriated for <br /> General Welfare Relief have been exhausted and that it is necessary for <br /> additional funds to be appropriated if%the program is to be carried out in this <br /> county; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that for the fisical year ending <br /> June 30, 1958 it is hereby appropriated out of the poor fund for General <br /> Welfare Relief the addition sum of $2, 500. 00. <br /> Commissioner Atkins moved the adoption of the foregoing resolution <br />
