The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded <br /> by Commissioner Kelly and the vote on the same was as follows; <br /> Kelly - aye • <br /> Winstead - aye <br /> Cheshire - aye <br /> Atkins - aye <br /> Measamer - aye <br /> Commissioner Cheshire introduced and moved the adoption of the following <br /> resolution, to-wit; <br /> "BE IT RESOLVED that L. L. Beckham of Sanford, North Carolina, is <br /> hereby appointed Lee County and/or City of Sanford Director of Civil Defense and <br /> that he or his successor in office, is' hereby empowered in case of a natural <br /> disaster, subversive action, or enemy action,_ to use any of Lee County and/or <br /> City of Sanford Equipment of any kind or description and that he may call upon <br /> any and all ,employees of the County of Lee 'and/or the City, of Sanford to assist <br /> him, particularly those in charge of maintenance and the operation of said <br /> equipment and that no further authority is hereby required for said Director <br /> of Civil Defense to act; <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1958 <br /> there is hereby appropriated out of the County General Fund Surplus the sum <br /> of $1, zoo. 00 for Civil Defense. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by <br /> Commissioner At kins and the vote on the same was as follows; <br /> Kelly - aye <br /> Winstead - aye <br /> Cheshire - aye <br /> Atkins - aye <br /> • <br /> Measamer - aye <br /> W.
