unanimous vote of the Board. <br /> Commissioner Atkins moved that a road petition submitted by Gilmore <br /> Groce of Route 3, Sanford, be approved. This petition requested that a road <br /> located in West Sanford Township running from the Country Store on Makepeace <br /> Road to the intersection of the Carbonton Road and Steele Bridge Road, a <br /> distance of 1. 25 miles, be added to the State Highway system and maintained <br /> by the State Highway Commission. Commissioner Winstead seconded this <br /> motion and the same was adopted by unanimous vote of the Board. <br /> K. S. Harmon, County Farm Agent, reported upon the activities of his <br /> office for the month of March, 1958, and presented C. S. Mintz, District <br /> Farm Agent, who recommended that the County hire an Assistant County Agent. <br /> This request was fully discussed, but no formal action was taken by the <br /> Board. <br /> Miss Monica Brown, County Home Demonstration Agent, presented monthly <br /> report of the activities of her office. <br /> Dr. Jack C. Robertson, County Health Officer, presented the monthly <br /> report for the County Health Department and stated that a new County Health <br /> Officer.would move to Sanford and assumehis duties here on or about the 15th <br /> day of April, :1958.. <br /> Commissioner Winstead moved the adoption of a road petition submitted <br /> by James C. Green of Route 6, Sa`nford. This petition,requested that a road <br /> running from the O. A. Green residence to the Lemon Springs - Swann Station <br /> road, on the line between Mary Garner Upchurch, J. W. Nicholson Heirs <br /> and W. D. Gilmore, be added to the State Highway System and maintained by <br /> the State Highway Commission. The motion for the adoption of this resolution <br /> was seconded by Commissioner Cheshire and the same was unanimously <br /> adopted. <br /> Winstead <br /> Commissioner/introduced and moved the adoption of the following <br /> resolution, to-wit: <br /> WHEREAS, this Board has heretofore adopted a resolution providing <br /> for the appropriation out of the County General Fund the sum of $18, 430. 00 <br /> for the operation of the Superior Court of said County; and whereas, it has <br /> now been determined that said sum is insufficient to cover the cost of the <br />
