H. Campbell, Tax Collector, presented report of the Tax Collector's <br /> Office for the preceding month, <br /> Commissioner Winstead moved that the prop erty purchased by The <br /> Shotwell Council No. 148 of the Junior Order, which property was purchased <br /> from William L. Dollar, be relieved from taxation as of March 1, 1958, <br /> with the provision that the said William L. Dollar pay two-twelfths of the <br /> tax assessed against said property for the year 1958. This motion was <br /> seconded by Commissioner Cheshire and the same was adopted by the unanimous <br /> vote of the Board. <br /> The Chairman then announced that he had been appointed as a member <br /> of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners Legislative <br /> Committee and that this Committee would discuss on Friday at Chapel Hill • <br /> <t proposal by the North Carolina;-Association of County Commissioners that <br /> the State appropriate additional funds for local health services. On motion <br /> of Commissioner Atkins, which motion was seconded by Commissioner Kelly, <br /> the Board unanimously authorized the Chairman to support the proposal of <br /> the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners that the State <br /> appropriate additional funds for local health services. <br /> (X E. P. Clark, Custodian of the Courthouse, reported upon the condition <br /> of all buildings owned by the County. <br /> Dr. i R. Carter, Jr., County Health Officer, presented the monthly <br /> report of the'Lee County Health Department. <br /> Mrs. Laura Rosser, Acting Supt. of Public Welfare, presented monthly <br /> report of the activities•of the County Welfare Department. <br />
