t <br /> • <br /> Dr. N. R. Carter, County Health Officer, presented a monthly report <br /> of the County Health Department and the County Sanitarian. <br /> E. P. Clark, Custodian of the Courthouse, reported upon the condition <br /> of all buildings owned by the County. <br /> Mrs. Laura Rosser, Acting Supt. of Public Welfare, presented monthly <br /> report of the activities of the County Welfare Department. <br /> James Brandy, President of the Greenwood Rural Fire Department, <br /> appeared before the Board with a delegation and requested his Department be <br /> approved and granted financial assistance by the County. After prolonged <br /> discussion of the various problemens reported, Commissioner Winstead moved <br /> that the Greenwood Fire Department be recognized and that the Greenwood <br /> Fire District be approved. This motion died from want of a second. <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Kelly, which motion was seconded by <br /> Commissioner Cheshire, the sound valuation:of a house os'ned by James R. <br /> Roberts in Greenwood Township was reduced from $14, 000: 00 to $10, 000. 00. <br /> On motion of Commissioner Kelly, which motion was seconded by <br /> •Commissioner Cheshire, .the sound,value of- a house owned by-Robert Pierce <br /> located in Greenwood Township was reduced from $7, 600. 00 to $6, 000. 00. <br /> Casper Roberts, one of the partners of Roberts Insurance Service came <br /> before the Board and requested that his agency be approved for participating <br /> in the County Fire Insurance program. On motion of Commissioner Cheshire <br /> which motion was seconded by Commissioner Winstead, the Board unanimously <br /> authorized the approval of Roberts Insurance Service for participation in the <br /> writing of fire insurance policies for the various buildings owned by the County, <br /> and the Clerk to the Board was authorized to advise Mr. D. F. Harris, the agent in t <br /> charge of the County Fire Insurance Program. <br /> Mr. L. L. Beckham, Director of Civil Defense, reported upon the <br /> activities of his office for the month of June, 1958. <br /> On Motion of Commissioner Atkins, which motion was seconded by <br /> Commissioner -Kelly the Board unanimously resolved to adxxix adjourn its <br /> meeting until Thursday, July 17, 1958, at 8;00 o'clock P. M. at which time <br /> said Board would adopt an appropriations resolution and levy necessary taxes <br />
