This motion was seconded <br /> by Commissioner Atkins and the same was unanimously adopted. <br /> The County Attorney then presented a proposed description for the <br /> Greenwood Rural Fire District. Commissioner Winstead then moved that the <br /> following described areas, proposed for the.fire district for the Greenwood Rural <br /> Fire Department, be adopted, to-wit: <br /> BEGINNING at the junction of U. S. Highway No. 1, U. S. Highway <br /> No. 501, and the Lemon Springs paved highway, said junction <br /> being located about 5 miles South of Sanford, North Carolina; and <br /> running thence in a Northeasterly direction about 2. 3 miles to <br /> Munn's Crossing on Seaboard Railroad; thence with the old Raleigh <br /> road in a Northeasterly direction about . 7 mile to the main <br /> residence on the McClenney Farm; thence in a Southeasterly <br /> direction, about 3 miles to the bridge over Little River on the <br /> Jonesboro-St. Andrews Church Road; thence as the St. Andrews <br /> Church Road in a Southerly direction to the dirt road leading to and <br /> by the residence of John W. Garner; thence as the dirt road <br /> leading by the residence of John W. Garner in a Southeasterly <br /> direction, about . .8 miles to the junction of said road with the Lemon <br /> Springs-Swan Statinn Road at a point approximately . 5 mile East <br /> of St. Andrews Church; thence with the East line of the W:• E. <br /> Stanley Farm in a Southerly direction and continuing in a straight line <br /> 'about . 7 miles to Big Juniper Creek; thence in a Southeasterly • <br /> direction 2. 3 miles to the junction of the road leading from Grady <br /> Douglas with the Lemon Springs-Harnett Hill Road at the Grover <br /> Douglas Farm; thence in a Northwesterly direction about 3 miles <br /> to Rocky FortcChristian Church; thence North about 1 miles to <br /> the Marion Farm on U. S. Highway No. 1; thence in a Northwesterly <br /> direction about 1 milek to the residence of J. Chaidler Eakes; thence <br /> in a Northerly direction about 1. 7 miles to the jun4ion of U. S. <br /> Highway No. 1 and U. S. Highway NO. 501, the point of BEGINNING. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by <br /> Commissioner Atkins and the same was adopted by the unanimous vote of the <br /> Board. <br /> Mrs. Laura Rosser, Supt. of Public Welfare, presented monthly report <br /> of the Welfare Department. <br /> Mr. Hugh Talley, County Sanitarian, presented monthly report of the <br /> activities of his office. <br /> On motion of Commissioner Winstead, which motionwas seconded by <br /> Commissioner Cheshire, the road petition submitted by J. A. Murchison was <br /> unanimously adopted. This petition requested that a road in Greenwood Township, <br /> running from the old Cameron road South to the Holiness Church, and known <br /> as the old Cameron road, be improved, stabalized and added to the State Highway <br /> S stem p <br /> V/^ A A e ber'T u.
