0 <br /> On motion of Commissioner Measamer, which motion was seconded <br /> by Commissioner Atkins, W. H. Campbell was.unanimously elected Lee <br /> County Tax Collector. <br /> On motion of Commissioner Winstead, which motion was seconded <br /> by Commissioner Measamer, Miss Una Gregson was unanimously elected <br /> County Accountant. <br /> Commissioner Winstead then placed in nomination the name of H. M <br /> Jackson for County Tax Attorney. Co omrissioner Atkins then placed in <br /> nomination the name of S. Ray Byerly County Tax Attorney. The following <br /> members of the Board voted for Mr. Jackson: Commissioners Winstead <br /> and Groce. The following members of the Board voted fork Mr. Byerly: <br /> Commissioners Atkins, Measamer and Kelly. <br /> The Chairman then announced that S. Ray Byerly had been duly elected <br /> County Tax Attorney. <br /> On motion of Commissioner Measamer, which motion was seconded <br /> . by Commissioner Atkins, Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Campbell were unanimously <br /> elected Supt. of the Lee County Home. <br /> On motion of Commissioner Winstead, which motion was seconded <br /> by Commissioner Atkins, Paul Lucas was unanimously elected County <br /> Tax Supervisor. <br /> On motion of Commissioner Measamer, which motion was seconded <br /> by Commissioner Atkins, D$. J. H. Byerly was unanimously elected <br /> County Physician. <br /> On motion of Commissioner Atkins, which motion was seconded by <br /> Commissioner Measamer, the Chairman was by unanimous vote authorized <br /> and directed to appoint all Committee Chairmen and members. <br /> • <br /> Commissioner Atkins moved that the following resolution be adopted: <br /> WHEREAS, the Local Government Commission of North Carolina has <br /> informed the Board of Commissioners that it has sold, in the manner <br /> prescribed by law, the $67, 000 School Building Bonds of the County of Lee, <br /> dated December 1, 1958, authorized to be issued by a bond order adopted <br /> by the%Board of Commissioners on the 5th day of May, 1958, and that the <br /> contract of sale contemplates that said bonds shall bear interest as herein- <br /> after provided; and <br /> WHEREAS, said bonds are to consist of sixty-seven bonds of the <br /> denomination of $1, 000 each, -numbered from 1 to 67 inclusive, in the order <br /> of their maturity: NOW, THEREFORE, , <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that said bonds shall bear interest as follows: (1) <br /> the bonds numbered from 1 to 57, inclusive, at the rate of three per centum <br /> (3%) per annum, and (2) the bonds numbered from 58 to 67, inclusive, at <br /> the rate,of three and one quarter per cuntum (3 1/4%) per annum. <br /> Commissioner Winstead seconded.the motion, and the motion was adopted <br /> by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Commissioners Kelly, Winstead, Measamer, Atkins & Groce. <br /> Nays: None <br />
