BOCK 23 PAC[ 4-96 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />MINUTES OF THE LEE COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING <br />JUNE 1. 2010 <br />The EDC Sub-Committee met on this date at 3 p.m. in the Gordon Wicker Conference <br />Room, First Floor, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North <br />Carolina. The following were in attendance and participated in discussion: <br />Lee County Commissioner Amy Dalrymple <br />Lee County Commissioner Larry'Doc" Oldham <br />Lee County Commissioner Richard Hayes <br />Lee County Manager John Crumpton <br />Sanford City Councilman J. D. Williams <br />Sanford City Councilman Sam Gaskin <br />Sanford Mayor Cornelia Olive <br />Sanford City Manager Hal Hegwer <br />Broadway Commissioner Lynne Green <br />Broadway Commission Clem Welch <br />Broadway Town Manager Bob Stevens <br />Broadway Mayor Donald Andrews <br />Economic Development Director Bob Heuts <br />Economic Development Chairman Donny Hunter <br />Economic Development Member John Daniel <br />Commissioner Dalrymple called the meeting to order and opened the floor for <br />discussion. <br />Discussion centered on a revised policy with the Economic Development Corporation <br />and development of inter-local agreements with the City of Sanford and the Town of <br />Broadway, and procedures on how each respective Board can assist with economic growth in <br />an aggressive, accountable and effective manner. A timeline for a strategic and marketing plan <br />from the EDC was also discussed. <br />After discussion from all present, it was agreed that County Manager John Crumpton <br />would draft an agreement between the County of Lee and the Lee County Economic <br />Development Corporation stating that Lee County will engage in economic development <br />activities and the Lee County Economic Development Corporation (LCEDC) will be employed <br />to undertake this activity on behalf of the County. The agreement will also address such <br />issues as budgetary appropriation, staffing of LCEDC, presentation of quarterly update <br />
